  • Day 1 (Dublin):
    • Fly to Dublin.
    • Arrive +1 day.
    • Rest, bus into Dublin if feeling up to it (we were – we ended up going to Cornucopia for dinner.)
    • Stay in Dublin airport hotel for the night.
  • Day 2 (Dublin -> Galway):
    • Pick up rental car.
    • Drive to Galway with stop at Clonmacnoise.
    • Dinner at a pub
  • Day 3 (Galway):
    • Explore Galway town, Sunday market, medieval walls, cathedrals, etc.  Walk along Salthill Promenade.
  • Day 4 (Galway):
    • Connemara day trip
    • Sky Road
    • Clifden
    • Kylemore Abbey
  • Day 5 (Galway -> Doolin):
    • Via the Burren, Burren Perfumery
    • Dinner at a pub
  • Day 6 (Doolin):
    • Cliffs of Moher by sea and land
    • Aran Islands (Inisheer) trip
  • Day 7 (Doolin -> Dingle):
    • Via ferry, Conor pass
    • Dingle town exploration
  • Day 8 (Dingle):

    • Muckross House
    • Lunch at Pay As You Please
  • Day 10 (Kenmare -> Clonakilty -> Kinsale):
    • Kinsale town
    • Dinner at Fishy Fishy Cafe
  • Day 11 (Kinsale)
    • Charles Fort
  • Day 12 (Kinsale -> Cobh -> Kilkenny)
    • Kilkenny Castle
  • Day 13 (Kilkenny -> Dublin)
    • Return rental car
    • Trinity College
    • Dublin exploration
    • Eat at Cornucopia (again) and Avoca
  • Day 14 (Dublin)
    • Newgrange tour
  • Day 15 (Dublin)
  • Day 16 (Dublin -> Seattle)
    • Morning in Dublin town, then fly out

So, in summary:

Dublin (1 day)

Galway (3 days)

Doolin (2 days)

Dingle (2 days)

Kenmare (1 day)

Kinsale (2 days)

Kilkenny (1 day)

Dublin (4ish days)

(Next time, I’d spend more time in Galway, Dingle, and Kilkenny, less time in Dublin, and I’d also like to drive the Ring of Kerry and fit in a trip to Northern Ireland if there’s time.)
